Kurt Bazilus, DDS
Dr. Bazilus joined our practice in 2007. He received his DDS from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and completed an advanced general dentistry residency at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. During his residency, Dr. Bazilus honed his skills in full-mouth rehabilitation, periodontal surgery, dental implant placement and restoration, sedation dentistry, and Invisalign orthodontics.
His postgraduate residency sets him apart because of the enormous commitment and considerable talent it required. Dr. Bazilus was awarded the Chancellors’ Award and the Harry M. Paul Award during his training. A vested part of the dental community, Dr. Bazilus is a member of the Arizona Dental Association, Central Arizona Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Dental Association.
Dr. Bazilus returned to Phoenix in 2007 to take advantage of the activities available in Arizona, especially camping, hiking, and fishing. He also likes to golf, run, surf, and travel. Dr. Bazilus places a high priority on community service. He’s a volunteer with several charitable organizations in the Phoenix area, including the Boys and Girls Club and Give Kids a Smile. Dr. Bazilus has also performed charity work in Veracruz, Mexico.
Carl R. Wright, DMD
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Carl R. Wright completed his undergraduate studies on academic scholarship at Idaho State University. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology. He later attended the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and certificate in Public Health. While there he was privileged to be a part of the Senior Advance Restorative & Cosmetic Team and upon graduation was honored with the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Dental Award of Excellence.
After dental school, Dr. Wright chose to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with Lutheran Medical Center. This advanced training in Full-mouth Rehabilitation, Oral Medicine, Endodontics, Periodontal Surgery, Sedation, and both Laser and Implant Dentistry gives him the ability to excel in his profession and meet the needs of his patients.
Community health is a passion of Dr. Wright’s; he enjoys spending time volunteering his skills with Valley non-profit organizations and participates in a yearly medical mission trip to Southern Mexico. He is involved at both the local and national level in his profession. Being an active member of: the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Endodontists and the Academy of Osseointegration allows him to stay current with emerging oral medicine technologies.
In his spare time, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, hiking, hunting, fishing, golfing and nature photography. Together Dr. Wright and his family have enjoyed making Arizona their home and he looks forward to working with you and your family in the future.
Scott Josephson, DMD
Dr. Josephson earned his Bachelor of Health Science in Physiology with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine.
He later attended the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and certificate in Public Health. Upon graduation he was honored with the award for excelling in Endodontics.
After dental school, Dr. Josephson chose to complete an Advanced Education in General dentistry residency with Lutheran Medical Center. The field of dentistry is constantly evolving, and Dr. Josephson understands the importance of keeping up-to-date with the newest and best dental technology. Dr. Josephson places strong emphasis on continuing education and insists on using only the best materials and most advanced technology dentistry has to offer.
During his free time he enjoys spending time outdoors including: hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and golfing. He is married to his wife Angela and together they have 2 young children; Austin and Kaylynn.
Jared Mayer, DDS
Dr. Jared Mayer grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in the Valley of the Sun for more than a decade.
He received his B.S. in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and later attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona, where he graduated with honors. Growing up the son of an artist, Dr. Mayer has always had an eye for detail and the ability to conceptualize an idea and bring it to life through his excellent craftsmanship.
He enjoys all aspects of treating his patients and and understands that each person is unique and has different needs. Because of this, Dr. Mayer not only provides first class dental care every day, but he also works with compassion and empathy.
When he is not helping his patients, Dr. Mayer enjoys doing home improvement projects and spending time with his wife Katie and their three dogs. He is also committed to helping the lives of neglected animals and supports a number of local and national animal welfare organizations.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Therese Murphy, DDS
Dr. Murphy grew up in Northern California and started in the dental profession as a dental assistant. She soon discovered dentistry was her passion and continued her education in dentistry and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Murphy moved to Arizona in 1988 and set up practice in Ahwatukee in 1989. She has been serving the Ahawtukee community by providing high quality, gentle dentistry for the past 22 years.
Dr. Murphy has many years experience in general dentistry with focus for the last 15 years in cosmetic dentistry. She has advanced cosmetic certificates from the Hornbrook Institute, Dawson Institute and the Pac Live Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry. She is certified in Invisalign braces clear orthodontics. One of her passions is transforming smiles with cosmetic skills and Invisalign.
Dr. Murphy has been a resident of Ahwatukee since 1989 and enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She enjoys all the amenities Ahwatukee has to offer including hiking, walking and biking, community events and just being outside.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association and is passionate about attending continuing education and furthering her knowledge and skills in all areas of dentistry.
She believes in giving back to the community in several ways including sponsorship of the YMCA expansion project and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
Eric L. Kerbs, DDS
Dr. Eric L. Kerbs grew up in Draper, Utah. After completing a service mission in Osaka, Japan, he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Medical Biology and minor in Chemistry. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. While completing his dental degree, Dr. Kerbs received multiple scholarships, including one from the National Institutes of Health for his research and publication on gene mapping and the discovery of antibiotic resilient genes.
Upon graduation, Dr. Kerbs went on to complete a one year fellowship, expanding his education to include full mouth dental reconstruction, placement and restoration of dental implants as well as molar endodontics, orthodontics and complex oral surgery.
Having practiced dentistry in Arizona since 2005, Dr. Kerbs' desire to provide affordable, comprehensive dental care, and his "put the patient care first" philosophy, has helped him expand to ten offices in the Valley. Patients and staff alike enjoy his professional but friendly demeanor as well as his dental craftsmanship.
Dr. Kerbs and his wife have two small children, and he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also oil paints, and has donated several of his paintings to local charities for fundraising campaigns.

Timothy Yu, DMD - Orthodontist
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Timothy Yu was born and raised in Michigan and went to Oberlin College in Ohio where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in biology. He continued his love of science by attending Temple University School of Dentistry in Pennsylvania where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree graduating near the top of his class.
During dental school he found his life’s calling—orthodontics, and continued his pursuit by remaining at Temple University to complete his orthodontic residency earning a Master’s of Science Degree and Orthodontic Specialty Certificate. During residency he was able to explore many cutting-edge areas of orthodontics culminating in his master’s thesis studying the effectiveness of Invisalign compared to conventional braces. As a resident he also enjoyed introducing dental students in the intricacies of orthodontics as a preclinical lab instructor. In 2008 he moved to Phoenix with his wife Lucia and began to set roots welcoming their first child Noah in 2010.
Dr. Yu is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and American Board of Orthodontics. In his spare time he loves golfing and spending time with his wife and family
